Pregnancy and hirsutism
Hello. I am 24 and Im not sure if I have Hirsutism. hehe I have more body hair than a 'normal' woman should have. My chin, some on my face, my tummy has hair, not just the "peach fuzz" but thicker, black hair....pretty much all over it, and thick black hair on my legs...lower legs and thighs and my nipples. Im scared about breastfeeding and not being able to get rid of the hair around the nipple area, considering they will be extremely senstiive. My dream is to be a mommy, and want to start thinking about getting pregnant. I want to know what anyone thinks about it. Im a bit nervous as to what people might think....such my doctors and my husband!
I am really self conscious about it...i tend not to wear shorts much, or a bathing suit....because I am easily embarassed...
Im afraid of my husband wanting to touch my belly when we're pregnant and the doctors seeing my tummy when doing an ultrasound...I have to shave everything pretty much everyday if I dont want anyone to really notice it.
HELP!!

I went through this very thing with alot of the same feelings! I had polycystic ovaries! I had to have emergency surgery in May of last year! I found out I was pregnant in May of this year! I am currently 10 weeks pregnant! The thaults and fears of what others think will vanish a little as you think of the new baby coming into the world!
The hair growth started on me as a 14 year old! I was ashamed, embarrassed. I found it easier to talk to my husband about my feelings and you will be suprised to learn that your husband most likely loves you for you and doesn't pay as much attention to the hair as you think! That's what I learned!
Hope this helps!

Thank you for sharing that and congratulations!!!
Question: have you discussed with your doctor/have you done any research about how your hirsutism might affect the baby?
Passing it in genes, especially if it is a girl, scares me more than showing my tommy to the doctors (yeah, that would not happen now but if it was for the baby, I'm pretty sure, I would not care less).
That is why I am thinking about adoption so much.
Any information wil be appreciated.
Good luck for you and the little one ))

pregnancy and hirsutism
Infertility is the most serious health defect arising from hirsutism. It may even be the historical root cause of hairy women being seen as "ugly". Fertility and bodily features that represent child bearing ability are what has defined beauty down through the ages. Mankind may have learned over the the course of centuries that extremely hairy women suffer fertility problems thus creating an ugly stigma on the very hairy features of women. I think hairy women are very beautiful and should bear children. The human species needs diverse body types to survive. Don't let hairiness turn you ugly on the inside to the point where evil and inhumane eugenics policies of 1930's Germany are advocated to breed hairiness out of the human race.

How do you deal with stress during pregnancy? My job can be very stressful so, I want some ideas on how to safely handle the stresses of life during pregnancy. I know that some herbs must be avoided during pregnancy; this is why I mention my pregnancy. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. _________________ It's my signature

Maybe you should try this. Hair discharges agents and wax can be used to remove hair, and makes white can be used to lighten hair. Depilatories and bleaches may cause skin sensitiveness in some women, so be sure to follow the directions for patch testing. Ultrasound Repair Training

Hi.......haven't really discussed this with anyone before and since very recently i got my test results back and i confirmed for hirsutism even though i have had it since i can remember as far back as my first period (which was wayyyyy too early since i had premature puberty) and now i have started getting some treatment for it but it if there are any results they won't be visible for about a few months............Now i am 18 years old and what i wanted to ask was if any of you have had treatment for it and has it worked and if it has then when you got pregnant did things went back and the hair started to appear in other places again or did it get worse or did nothing change??? and also how big are the risks of becoming infertile because of excess androgen???? I know i am a bit young to think about pregnancy but it's something i am very interested in and want to discuss a few things with someone who has actually been through it and knows how it is.......because this thing has really affected my life and to sort of say shaped the way i am today because it's not an easy thing to deal with at any age especially from such a young as i am. Any help is very much appreciated it, thank! )
