The hair in those photos isn't thin at all, and you can get long lengths with any kind of extensions. This board is mostly people with thinning and hair loss, not looking for length as much as a way to make the hair loss look better. Hair locs might be okay for thick hair but not for other kinds. Ive read A LOT of bad reviews about damage from hair locs, here and on lots of other web sights too. I cant see how Miamigirl can do a combover cause there is not enough hair to do that and I dont think anyone with thin hair wants the beads to show. What's the point then?

Okay-
Obviously the above poster who displayed all of her pictures does not have hair loss. So, the question needs to be asked "why are you here"? Did someone (Kim Marie) perhaps send you here? I can tell you that I never frequented hair loss sites before my hair loss hell started. The extensions were put in duirng a style show? Okay---obviously, you are connected to them somehow other than being a typical client. I am so sick of predators trying to take advantage of people who have so few choices as it is. I can only hope that when people read the above posts and are considering hair locs, they will, also, ask why a person with no hair loss came here to read and post......the obvious answer is free advertising.

I was at the show, because I was a Cosmetology Student (now licensed). There were hundreds booths and Hairlocs was my choice, for many reasons, too get their extensions.
I didn't and still don't, know Kim Marie or anyone who works for Hairlocs....I only met them once....and it was the day I got my extensions. TRUST ME....I showed up on this website, while browsing around the net!!!! I SWEAR TO GOD...I DON'T KNOW THEM, so please don't ASSUME that they set someone up to come on here!!
On that note....how does anyone know if this girl w/the thin hair is for real....Kim Marie didn't put any extensions on the crown of my head...I can't imagine why she'd do that to anyone else.
I just don't want Hairlocs to get a bad rap.....So, to answer your question....THAT is why I have posted in this section.... BECAUSE I LOVED MY HAIRLOC EXTENSIONS!!!

If your doubting the validity of my claims then feel free to visit www.heralopecia.com. I'm a frequent poster there, as well as other hair loss sites, and the majority of the women there will vouch for me. Also, I detailed every aspect of my experience with hairlocs there from the day they were installed, until the day they were taken out. You are more then welcome to read all of my posts if it will reassure you of my legitimacy in some way, not that it matters either way. I post under the same screen name (miamigirl) on every hair site that I go to. As far as the hairlocs product getting a bad rep, the damage has already been done, both before and after I began posting my story. There is an immense amount of complaints about that product posted on various sites. Search through the threads at Hairboutique.com and you'll find a plethora of information on this very topic. Here's the link:

I'm glad that you love your hairlocs, but unfortunately it hasn't worked out the same for everyone.

hairlocs
Everyone loves to show off installation and after photos. It's exciting, isn't it? Fresh, long, thick hair in one easy afternoon. Who could resist?
What is blindingly absent from ALL Hairlocs installers web sites and portfolios are the "After" pictures. Where are the pictures that show ponytail dimension and thickness once Hairlocs is removed? They certainly have a camera fully charged and ready to go after Hairlocs is initially installed. Where is that same camera when the locs are falling out because it's breaking the hair off? Where is that camera when ALL the locs come out and you can see how the copper locs ate through the hair cuticle? Where are the glowing referrals on the Internet of this "amazing" "no damage" system AFTER they've been worn for 3 months and are removed?
I challenged Hairlocs to put those photos up last winter on the Hair Talk board and they said, "Oh amm, what a great idea! We will do that!"
Guess what? I'm still waiting.
Even here, the "unregistered" and the "guests" seemingly pop in from nowhere and make a single post praising Hairlocs. Funny. They don't belong to any other hair community, never have said a word about hair anywhere on the Internet but yet here they just appear to pat Hairlocs on the back and then just as quickly as they appear ... poof! .... they vanish. How incredibly transparent (which is ironic because that's how your hair ends up after wearing Hairlocs.)
We've exposed Hairlocs stylists posting on the Internet, praising themselves and their system as they pretended to be their own customers.
Where is the integrity, people? At what point in your life do you decide it's ok to be involved in Hairlocs and lie to people just so you can line your own pocketbook? A what point during a Hairlocs maintenence do those people open those shells, see the green hair underneath and pull out your own breaking hair and reclose those copper shells right back over your green hair? How can they do that and not say a word?
The word is getting out about Hairlocs being one of the worst extension systems on the market. And the reason it's becoming well known is because of forums like this where REAL women are being HONEST because we're trying to look out for others and don't want others to go what we went through.
I truly feel for anyone who gets taken by the false claims of Hairlocs.

Thank you!
Hello, I am not a member. I am a 42 year old woman with long hair but I have noticed it getting thin and I was checking sites for help. I called my daughter in to tell her about a great site I found and I was going to get Hairlocs to make my hair appear thicker. There were tons of before and after pics that looked so great but as many of you pointed out..not 1 picture of what happens when they are taken out. Thank goodness I found this site first. I will not be doing this at all. Maybe my safest bet is to visit my doctor and see about vitamins or something. Thank you again.

I know of a place that has after photos of when the hair is
I know of a place in Newport Beach that has several after photos of when the hair is removed. They have quite a few clients that have photos of them and their hair actually growing out, long and thick. They also provide a list of clients that are willing to give their tesimonies.
However this place has actually improved the way they do the hairlocs. they do things a very differently there. I had my hair done there twice now. My photos are in there computer.
I had my hair done before (hair locks) by someone else. I do not want to say who they are. But they definitly were not done like my stylist.
There are good hair extension people out there, their just very hard to find. Anyone can call themselves a hair extension specialist or a master. Just make sure they provide references and the after after photos. I truly believe now after getting these amazing extensions that hair extensions are a science and an art. Gotta go now. The place is called Wiggin OUt! I do not have the number on hand. Sorry.

I love the Salon Wiggin Out! Amazing hair extensions!
The place I believe that you are talking about is Wiggin out Salon. They are in Newport Beach across from Hoag Hospital Right?
My !mother just had her hair done there. What do I think about it??? I was totally against hair extensions until I saw with my own eyes how they appied them to my mothers hair. I was amazed. They took special care and it was like they were surgons operating on a patient. Where it took 3 hours to do a full head at this salon down the street, it took them 10 hours and the results were amazing!!!!They took their work very very seriously and educated us both on information that I did not know existed. They used American non-process BLOND hair on my mother. She went from very short hair to a bob. It has been 2 months now and she not only has had no problems. she lost only two strands and they put them back in for free. the owner is from the midwest and she is not like the other people that own salons out here. She is really into educating us and the others that were there. Oh, they bought us a catered lunch and served us dinner, gave us exotic juices and teas in crystal glasses and played cool music and I got to watch a video on a DVD player. I met two of their clients that just stopped by to say hi and I could not believe it! It was like a community that existed in a Salon!!!
Oh by the way. Your right about the damage on the removal process, last time my mother had her hair done (not by this salon) they cut her hair removing the locks. This place (Wiggin Out) they had explained how they add this cushy stuff inside the lock , cushining the hair inside. (I hope I am explaining this correctly) then when they remove the lock, the tool goes into the rubbery material and not touching the actual hair. (Whewww, I hope thats the way.) Anyway I have been educated and when they explain what they know you leave there feeling empowered because you actually know more than most of these so-called hair extensions specialists ....or masters.....yeh right. ha ha. No offense on them but there is way to much bull-__ __ __ __ out there.
I will be getting hair extensions next week and I am excited and I am gettting them based on my current knowledge and I am feeling exciting to know there is place that really cares about you and stands for women to be powerful in life! Oh i looked up the number it is: 949 646-9447 Cara was really cool and there is a girl Rebecca there that is Gwen Stafani like . If you like cool designs and colors Rebecca is the girl. Cara or Kara did my mothers hair. It was seriously "hot" My mom hot??? I can honestly say she looks "hot"
