Propecia & Mood / Depression

Hi folks,

I recently started on Finasteride 1.25mg and 3 days later began experiencing very significant mood swings, worry, depression etc...

I am considering coming off the drug to see if that makes any difference.

Do you guys have any related information or experience of this?

This is a known side-effect.

It happens to some people. It will stop if you come off the drug. It may also stop if you take it for a while. Don't worry, it's not just you. A few people have reported this.

I have been on propecia for 2 months, and have also been experiencing signs of depression. Although they seem to be moderate, that are affecting my sleep, and I feel much worse than I have at any previous time in my life. So I have dicontinued use

Propecia & Mood / Depression

Propecia users who have had problems with mood swings and anger control.

My son who is normally very mild mannered has been taking Propecia and has been experiencing depression and recently had a very out of control episode of anger. This was over a very minor issue and said that he didnt' even know why he was angry but he couldn't control it.

I have found several other testimonial sites on this issue of people who have experienced similar side effects. These side effects are not being reported by the drug company. If you are having any of these side effects please go to:

www.fda.gov than to MEDWATCH on the right hand side of the site to report these side effects.

This is awful truth about propecia it does trigger anger , depression , fear and other things like bad sleep and so on.
I would like to know if there is some alternative for propecia which is safe for use without these side effects?

Propecia

I tried taking propecia twice - both times it brought on profound depression.

Does anyone know if Dutasteride has the same negative side effect ?

I am a female who was put on Proscar 5mg (yes I know its a very high dose and its not usual for woman to take it) But because I seem to have a hormonal imbalance which in teh UK is treated wht Proscar if you have a doctor who will prescribe it .. I am also on a vast majority of birth control and other drugs ...

However I have severe depression , mood swings, anger and the rest ... I thought this was because of the injustice of having been a perfectly normal even good looking woman who has now turned into a freak of human nature ..

Can these drugs really do this

propecia

Thanks to this site, I got the reason for my mild depression. I have been taking
Prepecia for two months. And in the past few weeks, I feel really low and unsettled. I used to watch the program and read the articles by Dr. Wayne Dyer, and in the last few weeks I found they are not "as inspring" as before.
I may have to stop taking the medicine if it does not get better.
BTW, I went to propecia.com, and found the only side effect they mentioned is "less sexual desire". I think Merck (the producer of Propecia) realize that is more
acceptable than "depression". No wonder they are being sued. Mad

nightmere

This is my third day of Propecia and it is a nightmere. I am anxious, edgy, depressed, scared.....I keep wondering if I should try to wait it out until these effects 'even out' but I don't think they will as they are only getting worse. I am scared to be around people, in public...unmotivated...and normally I am a happy, motivated person. I had no idea that this drug was going to do this. The only warning was that some people have 'slight sexual side effects'. This is a lie. That might be the strongest, but there are many many more. I am angry, sad, scared, and anxious. I feel like a different person and I don't like my reality. I want a refund from Merck or from my *.

The makers of Propecia are liars. This is an evil drug and it must be stopped.

Hairloss

Hello all. I am 28 with diffuse thinning. I also tried Finasteride (Propecia) with many side effects. I felt depressed, angry, and cloudy. Is there anything other than Minoxidel that could help? Does anyone use Spiro? Thank you, Tim-Timallen45@hotmail.com
