help: alopecia areata. is it the pill or retinol

Hello,
I've been on several birth control pills over the past 10 years, and all have caused hair loss or very poor hair growth, but never alopecia areata. I finally decided to go off it for good 3 weeks ago in an effort to get healthy again. Around the same time my doctor wrote me a prescription for topical retinol. Over the weekend I developed a smooth bald patch the size of the tip of my thumb on the top of my head, with many little hairs broken of around it. I believe its alopecia areata. I am waiting for a call back from my dermatologist, but the receptionist says she doesn't think she can get me in there for another month. Should I be very worried that it will continue to spread? Any advice?
Thanks so much for your time.

Google - nt spot baldness

The way you've described, it definitely sounds like Alopecia Areata. However you should confirm it first. The most reliable way is by getting a skin biopsy done through a doctor. It could indicate any abnormal concerntration of immune cells around the affected area.

That's how my bro confirmed that he has got Alopecia Areata. He managed to get his grow back by using an oil called nt spot baldness . He found it through google. You might want to give it a try. Good luck
