Does anyone have any "linty" type things in and arou

Hi Kevin,
This may seem like an odd question but I haven't been able to find anyone who has any information regarding a weird hair thing. I started to notice hair loss in May of '98. I hoped that it was TE but the hairloss persisted. I know now that I have AGA. One thing that started about 6 months after the hair loss, is I have all these things which almost appear to be "lint" or something that looks like lint, fly through the air around my head. They are so light in weight that it's almost like they float through the air. It so embarrasing and is causing anxiety for me at work.(especially when sitting in meetings...) I don't know what this is. I've talked to an endo and Dermo and they both think I'm crazy. I know I'm not crazy (I'm a sane woman who is well educated and balanced) because this started to happen when my hair problems started.
I also had developed dandruff which I'm controlling through shampoo. One of my co-workers even mentioned something recently at work. What am I supposed to say?

Have you ever heard of this "linty" type hair issue with anyone with AGA? Is there anything I can do to get this under control? Could this mean I have some type of hair inflamation instead of AGA? Does everyone experience this with AGA hair loss? It's like little fragments of hair are somehow causing it.

If you can just explain what this might be (if this is just normal for AGA patients..) it would make me feel so much better. I have not had a scalp biopsy done for fear that it might make things worse.

If you have ever heard of such a thing, please let me know. I feel like a total freak with this issue.

Thank you in advance.

No, none of you are crazy, there are so many people who have this "lint" problem. I have found a microbiologist who accepted a tiny baggy full of the renegade hairfibers that grow across my face and sometimes a layer or two are embedded into my skin. He scoped them along with some hair I sent (root attatched) to him, these long fiber like hairs were indeed my own hair that was filled with fungus. Our body uses each hair follicle as well as our pores as a way of purging impurities from our system. This biologist told me to collect sample in baby bottle liners, they're pre-sterilized and seal up tight around the sample, and send them to him. I did that and even took them with me to the dermatologist that I have been seeing for well over two years. He thought I had been pulling my hair out and told me to see a therapist for Luvox, it's used to control OCD problems. I told him over and over that I wasn't but he was insistant. I never did take them, because psyuch meds (some of them) contribute to skin disorders. And I'm not truly convinced they know all the side effects to all the meds out there. He disregarded the samples I took in and when I showed him the Photo contrast pictures that the biologist sent me he said that they were textile fibers and/or pet hair. I have had co2 lasering done glycolic acid peels done by this doctor, biopsies from the Mayo clinic taken, (I was told not to pull my hair in a pony tail) it caused stress pull on my scalp. I have been to endocrinologist, thyroid ultrasound done, came back normal. Hormone level was all good. I'm a 44 year old white woman who was a hairstylist for well over 17 years and I cut the hair of two women who did have trichlomania (sp?) my hairloss pattern doesn't look anything like what I witnessed. I have done blow dries on literally hundreds of people and never have I ever seen anything like this. I can tell you what I do use, although it hasn't taken away the thick soft waxy feeling my scalp has. I use Nizoral 2% shampoo and Ketoconazole 2% cream along with distilled white vinegar in a spritz bottle to control the itching and waxy build up that I get not only on my scalp but on my face and upper trunk. I'm not saying this is applicable to everyone, it's just what my general doctor has finally prescibed. I haven't seen the little floaters in a while but every now and then I do. I am still searching for someone to tell me why my scalp has gone through these stages. It went from my hair feeling "stuck" to my hair falling out, to my hair falling out and my scalp turning into a waxy-mushy feeling. I have posted on other sites that I know of a woman who went to an Ears, Nose and Throat specialist and they found a olive size fungus ball deep within her sinus cavity. She had to get her head scanned in order for the doctor to see it. And surgery was needed to remove it. I am wondering since the sinus cavity is so prevelent to the head, running so deeply if it's ability to attach itself on other "head" sources is possible? But like I said, those little wispy floater are real! We can't all be seeing the same thing and still be labeled whacked. Or can we?
They've done a good job of labeling me so far. I don't care, I will get to the bottom of this until I find answers.

linty hair

I also have this damn problem, suggestion, Morgellons. You guys are the lucky ones, I was so persistent that this was a real thing happening to me , that when I did seek Medical attention, I was admitted to the Psych ward for 6 days!!!!!!! So upsetting, and guess what I was right, I really wish the Medical Industry would wake up, and they definetly need to do away with Delusional as a diagnosis, it is very degrateing
