Wave nouveau is the way to go!

Originally posted by AnonymousAfter losing my hair to countless perms, relaxers and weaves, I lost faith in all hairdressers and beauticians. I wore a wig for most of my adult life because I could not count on what my hair would look like on a daily basis.

For example I remember as a young girl spending several hours in the beauty salon on Saturday morning only to hear my father exclaim, "Cut off that hair and wear a head scarf!"

In fact in August 2001, two months after I married, I asked the hairdresser to cut my damaged hair bald. My hair was four inches long and some parts were less than a 1/2 inch long.

I took a leap of faith and had the wave nouveau permanent applied on 7/24/05. I was unsure of what the end result would be or even if my sensitive scalp could take more chemical abuse.
So far this has been the right choice. My hair is softer and much more manageable due to the moisturizers. It has grown very quickly and some of my bald spots are growing hair for the first time in years. My first touch up is this week and I will let you know how it goes.

First Touch Up with Wave Nouveau-- The results are in!!!

In case you were wondering... I had my first touch up with Wave Nouveau on
10/12/05! I feared the worst because my scalp is soo sensitive and my hair
has been very dry, coarse and resistant with other perms and relaxers usually
resulting in less than desireable results.

The results are in!!!
I am Very Happy Very Happy happy to report that my hair has grown about 1/2 inches in most places and is soft, shiny and supple. The scalp did not burn, nor did I need to
apply any ointments to close chemical scalp burns. I'm very happy and I will continue to promote Wave Nouveau for those women who want to have soft and manageable hair without resorting to more damaging relaxers and heat based- not moisture based hair styles.

wave nouveu

I GOT A CARE FREE CURL BACK IN 1988 WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL FOR CONVENIENCE PURPOSES AND AS YEARS WENT BY I GOT THE LEISURE AND THE HAWAIIAN SILKY. I FINALLY ENDED UP WITH THE WAVE NOUVEAU MAYBE ABOUT 8 OR 9 YEARS AGO AND IT IS THE BEST ONE YET. MY HAIR HAD GOTTEN TO THE MIDDLE OF MY BACK SO WHENEVER I WENT ANYWHERE PEOPLE OF COURSE SAID THAT I HAD "GOOD" HAIR. I THINK THAT IT'S FUNNY BECAUSE IT REALLY DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A "CURL" (AS WELL IT SHOULDN'T, CAUSE IT'S A WAVE), BUT ANYWAY I AM NOW IN MY 30'S AND FIND OUT THAT IT IS BETTER TO USE A FLAT IRON THAN GETTING IT BLOW DRYED AND PRESSED. I REALLY WISH I HAD KNOWN THAT ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO BECAUSE I LOST A GREAT DEAL OF HAIR LETTING SOMEONE CRIMP IT.

WAVE NOUVEAU NEWBIES PLEASE WATCH WHEN GOING FROM THE CURLY TO STRAIGHT THAT YOU GET SOMEONE THAT KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING!! IT IS REALLY VERSATILE, THOUGH. I HAVE HAD IT STRAIGHT FOR PROMS, DANCES, MY WEDDING AND EVEN MY 10 YEAR REUNION (HIGH SCHOOL).

PLEASE POST COMMENTS.

THANX

WAVE NOUVEAU- STRAIGHT STYLES?

I've used wave nouveau for many years, but never worn a straight style...any recommendations? I'd love to try a straight style, but don't want to risk losing my hair! Any details you could provide would be helpful! Thanks!

Wave Nouveau Question

Hi,

I recently used Wave's Nouveau---last Thursday, 11/3/05. I am of mixed heritage half black and half Chinese. I decided to use Wave's Nouveau to loosen up the curls a bit, since it was soft, but frizzy and I found myself using an immense amount of products in my hair to keep it down (it has always been curly, but very fluffy). After getting Wave's Nouveau, my hair has become pretty straight. ...it also burned my scalp a bit. I usually wash my hair pretty frequently like 2-3x per week. I was wondering if it is truly necessary to wait 3 weeks to wash my hair??? My hairdresser stated such, but I feel like I can' t really do anything to it until I wash it. As well, if I use leave in conditioners and various moisturizers (not Curl Activators) is this enough???? I don't like the heaviness in my hair from the activator..and the leave in conditioners make my hair moist, but more free flowing and manageable. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Very Happy

Wave Nouveau Coiffure

Like many of you I was skeptical about getting the Wave Nouveau Coiffure put in my hair. I had stopped relaxing my hair 2.5 years ago and had achieve great length and healthy hair, but it was too much to deal with. I had to keep getting it straightened, etc. I wanted something that would allow me to wash-n-go, so I researched and after many months decided to get the wave nouveau.

I had it put in last week. Luckily I did not have to cut much of my long hair off. Just a few inches. I am happy with my choice, however, I do have a few questions for some of you have had the WN for a while. Do you experience alot of shedding? I have noticed that my hair has been shedding since I have gotten this. I called my stylist and she said that it was normal. Also, what products beside the WN Daily Humectant have you found that really works? My ends seem to be dry to me.

Thanks a bunch!

Wave Nouveau

I wore the Wave Nouveau for about a year and half, but found that it did shed alot. It made my hair grow long though! After a while it just broke off. I have soft hair but wanted something to soften my curls even more. For those of you who have softer hair, make sure you use a milder form. I think that is the reason for the shedding. This product is harsh because you have three types of chemicals going on at the same time. I had stop using it. I cut my hair very short and started using S-Curl instead. So far so good. I use QP silk gel along with a QP setting lotion. It gives the hair a longer hold without the frizzies. I used the QP products for the Wave Nouveau also and it worked great. Not as greasy. Anyway, I hope this helps!!

I have had the Wave Nouveau for 2 years now. It was great and then I had to switched stylist. The new stylist left the perm in for over an hour while she helped other clients.
My hair is shoulder length but very thin at the ends and shedding like crazy. Hair is all over the house! I also began to use the new improved daily products as well. about a year ago. I thought the perm should only be in for 30 mins? Does anyone know of a stylist in Los Angles or surronding areas. I cannot go back to my stylist, I'm sure leaving that perm in for so long damaged my hair.

Signed,

Damaged Hair
